Changing Gear

It’s the pointy end of Merrick’s school life. He has two weeks of study vacation before his final exams. He tells his dad he’ll be studying at his mum’s place, and tells his mum he’ll be at his dad’s. In the gap that opens between his families, he jumps on his postie motorbike and rides off into the sunset.
